Excuse me, dahrlings, but...

Wasn't That A Party?

In the wake of our inaugural Travel Agent’s Day I’ve got a headache of New Year’s proportions dearest Pumpkins. Whew, wasn’t that a party?

The festivities kicked off with repricing a client cruise for the 3rd time this month. God I love volunteer work!

Then I chased a few iPhone-bearing tire-kickers out of the office as they grabbed all my brochures while concurrently searching discounter websites.

I hustled out to a lunchtime training opportunity which consisted of 3 hours of promotional pomposity and returned breathless in time to write a cheque for my association dues even if I suspect the only lobby they know has a bar in it.

After that I excitedly began to interview potential fresh faces to fill the chair that Mabel left after 50 years in the business – well, she didn’t actually leave the chair, but the paramedics eventually got her out.

Unfortunately, most of the recruits were older than Mabel, asking annoying questions about telexes and ticket stock and admiring the high-tech green screens.

A perfect day ended with a winter product launch, but I can’t even remember what they said today, much less when October rolls around.

I trust your Travel Agent’s Day was as ribald and raucous as mine Dahrlings, and I hope we’re all around for a reprise in 2013.
