Excuse me, dahrlings, but...

50 Shades Of Pink

Lady book clubs from Boise to Kamloops are flushed over steamy Fifty Shades of Grey. On planes, look for the rosy cheeked women covering their book and ignoring the drink cart.

Even travel conferences are a twitter with giddy sexual shock over S&M titillation. At the VCom conference, Globus’ Terry Burke presentation began with: “River cruising is hotter than 50 Shades of Grey”. The crowd roared. That’s what I call reading your audience.

Although I have to say I’m a little put out by all the fuss, Pumpkins. Every possible colour of dominatrix tendencies, voyeurism, fetishism, even the occasional hint of pain followed by an explosive climax – have squatted all over these pink pages for the last 10 years. And, since I’m a business reporter, there’s no need to hide the cover!
