Peer Pressure Increases After Beer

My dear old Baba Kukicia used to spittle up at me from her rocking chair, “Ivanna, just because your friends are sluts, does it mean you have to be?” To this day, I’m not sure what she meant. Something about jumping on bandwagons and off bridges.

The point is, peer pressure is tough on unmolded minds. Take travel. One airline offers beer from the Toronto Island, and Air Canada does. Someone invents bad weather protection, the next day everyone’s claiming it. (Bet if one slept with the Junior Mensa Club, they all would.)

The latest wagon being circled by the tour ops is the care and handling of  additonal fees and surcharges.

WestJet Vacations – forever the trail blazing maverick – was first to bite the bullet and include them in the advertised base price. In May, Sunquest dipped their boots into the all-in pool by shifting some fees into the price. Then yesterday, Transat & Noli announce they are riding that bronco hard. (Oh my… I’m a few shades light of a deep Jean-Marc flush right now. Bring the riding crop, dahrling.)

Bet ‘ya dollars to beignets we’ll hear from acv and sunwing by sundown. Ok, maybe by Friday. Whatever. The bottom line is that you, dear Pumpkins, will experience unrestrained commission growth as a result of this peering contest. Oh my.
