I do enjoy the old “I am what I am” comeback, Pumpkins. It’s a little lame, but very useful when caught with your pants down. My exes would wail, “It can’t be helped, Ivanna! You know what I am!” Poor dears. Victims really.
Self-examination was not in the cards. (And I’m not talking about prodding the jewels – they held onto those things for dear life.)
So memories came flooding over me when I read ACTA’s ballsy rejoinder to accusations of conflict of interest. In a nutshell, the memo expounds on why it’s ok to be a shill for singularly special suppliers. Aha, I thought… so there must be some sort of audit behind ACTA choosing to push one supplier over another. They must know something – otherwise they couldn’t possibly be urging you to sell suppliers not fully supportive of the agent community. Could they?
No word on that front but apparently the “partners” are carefully selected based on some criteria. And obligations are met. In summation, “partnerships highlight the dedication that our partners have made to the retail travel agency community but most importantly, our members.”
And there you have it. I have no idea what you have, but apparently there is no problem because everyone is dedicated to everyone and can’t we all just play nice.
It’s all good, dahrlings. Not to worry that Regent Seven Seas is “thrilled” to use ACTA as an extension of their sales team. It’s good for you.
