Excuse me, dahrlings, but...

The Great Game Is On

It’s my favourite spectator sport, Pumpkins. The great summer game is on! When operators desperately want to score a last minute booking and kick around ITC offers like a well-worn football. Free kids, free upgrades and 40% off companions (with the cost of a good companion nowadays, that is a really good deal).

It’s all part of that great unknown that is summer travel. After last year’s Euro-bomb, Canadians were supposed to be crossing the pond in droves. And not just to river cruise. Ocean cruises seem a tad desperate in wooing bookings out of you with bonus commissions I haven’t seen the likes of since the ‘80’s. Is the Med dead, dahrlings?

In the meantime, there’s the World Cup to divert us from such tiresome worries. My goodness, dahrlings, is it me or do those boys just get better looking? Sure does get the blood pumping to watch firm appendages all tangled up together – then magically bounce back up as though nothing ever happened. One can only watch and yearn – for the good old days when that was true of all dribblers. (out of bounds!)
