David Morris International (DMI), the worldwide representatives of Paul Gauguin Cruises (PGC) who operate the Paul Gauguin sailing Tahiti, French Polynesia and the South Pacific, have appointed Cruise Strategies Ltd. to expand the presence of the vessel in Canada. DMI represents PGC in a similar capacity on an international level and in particular in the United States.
With this new partnership, Cruise Strategies' sales and marketing team will provide marketing, public relations and communications support to increase awareness and sales of the m/s Paul Gauguin within the Canadian marketplace and will be calling on Canadian travel agencies providing training and marketing support and materials. Agents will continue to make their reservations with the cruise line directly.
Established in fall 2006, Cruise Strategies is owned by long time travel and cruise industry executive, Vanessa Lee. The company focus is on partnerships with select and high end cruise providers to further build their brands in Canada and to provide Canadian travel agencies with the resources they require to sell niche, deluxe and luxury cruises knowledgeably and successfully.
Lee has worked with executives of both Paul Gauguin Cruises as well as David Morris International over her extensive travel career; not to mention having great familiarity with the m/s Paul Gauguin having represented the vessel in the past. Karen Scott Caplice, national director of sales for Cruise Strategies, has more than 20 years experience in Canada working with various retail companies and managing cruise programs.
Marilyn Conroy, executive vice president of DMI comments 'I have worked with Vanessa for over 20 years and no one is more capable of growing the Canadian market than she is and therefore when DMI was appointed to represent PGC worldwide we immediately asked Cruise Strategies for their assistance in Canada."
'I am thrilled to add the award winning and stunning m/s Paul Gauguin to the collection of fine cruise ships my team and I represent here in Canada. Exploring the romance and beauty of the Tahitian Islands and surrounding area is best done by ship and there is none other like the Paul Gauguin," stated Lee. "I can personally attest to the quality and satisfaction of this vacation experience whether it is for sheer relaxation amongst the truly crystal clear waters and lush backdrop or whether it is a honeymoon celebration. We are anticipating our launch of this idyllic product and having more agents and travelling Canadians experiencing French Polynesia.'
