Sunwing/Signature Deal Wins Transport Canada Approval
Open Jaw

The Sunwing/Signature merger has cleared another regulatory hurdle with Transport Canada, bringing the deal another step closer to completion.

In response to an Open Jaw inquiry on the status of approval, Transport Canada provided the following response: "The Minister's Office has issued a letter advising parties to the transaction that there are no public interest issues regarding national transportation associated with this proposed transaction."

The Consumer Protection Bureau was the first regulatory body required to approve the consolidation and Sunwing has confirmed that their blessing has been received.

The 3rd and final approval to seal the deal from the Air Transport Association is still pending.
