CITC Seeking Participants For Travel Manager Standards Survey
Open Jaw

CITC has entered the second phase of a project to produce new occupational standards for travel managers in conjunction with The Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council (CTHRC). The project deals with the development of assessment tools to determine if the required management knowledge, skills and attitudes are being met by certification candidates.

CITC is looking for participation from anyone working in a management or supervisory capacity in the travel industry. Participants do not need to be a CITC member or already certified to participate in the development phase.

The on-line survey will help to rate the standards according to relevance, frequency and level of importance. The results of these ratings will be used to confirm the job responsibilities of Travel Managers and to guide the development of test items.

The survey may be accessed now at:

Following this feedback, specific assessment tools will be developed that will require field testing. There will be different items to review including: written test questions (January 10 – 29), a pilot test and potential portfolio submission items that go into more depth on some of the skills (February 8-26). A three day meeting (March 2 -4) will be held to review, revise and finalize all input received from various sources.

Please contact CITC's National Certification Manager, Coralie Belman at coralie@citc.ca to participate in the research and development stages of this project.
