WestJet's June 2010 traffic, measured in revenue passenger miles (RPMs), increased 19% resulting in a load factor of 78.2% for the month. Capacity, measured in available seat miles (ASMs), grew 10.9% over the same period. The airline flew an additional 139,000 guests in June 2010 compared to June 2009.

"Since June is a month when we transition into the peak travel season, we are very encouraged with this month's strong load factor, particularly with our significant year-over-year capacity growth," said WestJet President and CEO Gregg Saretsky.

In June, WestJet began non-stop service to Samana, Dominican Republic, as well as summer service from Vancouver to both Kitchener-Waterloo and San Francisco.
