The board of directors for Solways Travel International, the Tour Operator for Sol Meliá products, has taken the decision to close their Canadian operation effective August 1st, 2010.
Citing strong competition from Canadian tour wholesalers who heavily discount the Cuba product, Solways was not able to earn a reasonable return on product in this market.
Solways South American operations remain operational.
