Barceló Hotel & Resorts has unveiled the Barceló Solymar Arenas Blancas Resort, following the acquisition of the 358-room Gran Caribe Arenas Blancas Hotel. Located on Cuba’s Varadero Beach, Barceló will begin operations of both resorts in November 2010.

The four-star-plus complex houses a total of 883 rooms, each providing a variety of amenities and activities. There are a total of seven restaurants on the property, specializing in Italian, Cuban and Spanish food. For adults, there are seven different bars amd a spa.

The Barceló Solymar Arenas Blancas Resort is located just 25 minutes from the International Airport of Varadero and two hours from Havana, offering close proximity to the city centre as well as located on arguably the best part of the beach in Varadero with direct access for water sports.

Thanks to this new offering, Barceló Hotels & Resorts maintains an even stronger presence in the Cuban market, with six hotels and more than 3,000 rooms in the country. The hotelier’s other properties include two five-star facilities in Varadero: Barceló Marina Palace and Barceló Cayo Libertad, with 548 and 85 rooms, respectively. The company opened Barceló Cayo Santa Maria last year and debuted Barceló Habana Ciudad this year, with 1,000 and 186 rooms, respectively.
