Sunwing Travel Group has announced that Gerry Roussin has accepted a new position as V.P. Business Development for the company. As a result of this change, Graeme Franklin, Director of Sales, Western Canada, will now take over full responsibility for the Western Canada Sales team.

Franklin is a familiar face to Western Canada retailers, having joined Fiesta West in 1989, which later became Signature Vacations. He joined the Sunwing Travel Group this past January following the strategic venture between Sunwing and Signature.

Franklin will head up a team of five regional Business Development Managers (BDMs) covering the provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and B.C., with a regional office in Downtown Vancouver.

Roussin will continue to be based in British Columbia as he undertakes his new business development role.

Commenting on the changes, Sunwing Travel Group President & CEO Stephen Hunter said, “I would like to thank Gerry for the past three and a half years, during which time he has been instrumental in growing Sunwing to be the major, successful operator in Western Canada it is today. He brings great knowledge, and experience to his new role within the group.”

Hunter also welcomed Franklin to his new role, “In the short time following the completion of our strategic venture, Graeme has impressed everyone with his business acumen and his great working relationships with our retail partners in the West, and now is a good time for him to take sole responsibility for the sales functions.”
