Pauline Valiquette, Corporate Travel Manager, CBC/Radio Canada, has been named the new Canada Regional Chair for the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) and will officially assume the two-year position in February 2011.

The announcement was made during the association’s Canada Education Conference in Calgary. Valiquette will be taking over the role from Gillian McCormack, Director, Business Development – Western Canada, American Express Business Travel.

“We are pleased and fortunate to draw upon this calibre of executive as our Regional Chair for Canada," said Annemarie Reininger, ACTE Canada Board Member. “Pauline Valiquette is a leader in the community and brings a wealth of industry insight to her new role as well as considerable volunteer experience with ACTE.”

A 25-year industry veteran, Valiquette began her career as manager of procurement in a crown corporation. Having joined CBC/Radio Canada in 2001, she currently manages their entire travel portfolio which includes airlines, hotels, ground transportation services and credit cards. She also provides procurement services to CBC/Radio Canada’s corporate clients by supporting them in their RFP requirements to contract negotiations.

A well-known industry executive Valiquette is well respected for balancing strategic foresight with tactical execution. She has served on numerous ACTE panels and committees, both regional and global, and is a steering committee member and panelist at this year’s Canada Education Conference.

“Pauline brings passion, expertise and dedication to the industry and the association,” said Monica Hailstone, Regional Director, Canada. “We look forward to working with her in this new capacity.”
