Air Canada has published a video with Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Lucie Guillemette, providing an update to the travel trade about the carrier's return to a new, post-pandemic normal, that includes updated policies and services.
While she says “Today we are encouraged by the tremendous progress made as an industry and country in this short period of time,” Guillemette acknowledged, “We know that customers want peace of mind when purchasing a ticket.”
The carrier is updating both its flexible booking policy as well as launching a new refund policy.
Air Canada is extending its flexible booking policy to 31JUL “so that customers can change their travel plans without having to pay a fee,” Guillemette says.
She goes on to discuss the carrier’s refunds to date, which she points out protect agent commissions, and Guillemette announces a new refund policy for new bookings.
Going forward, if Air Canada cancels a flight - for any reason - if the airline is unable to rebook pax on a new flight within three hours of their original departure, they can request a refund.
