Air Canada; WestJet Resume Non-Stop Service to the Cayman Islands in DEC

Two Canadian airlines have released plans to return to the Cayman Islands beginning next month. Air Canada Rouge and WestJet will re-introduce 4-hour non-stop service from Toronto to Grand Cayman, with easy connections across Canada.

Air Canada Rouge begins non-stop service from YYZ on 04DEC, with WestJet returning on 16DEC.

That will mean Canadians can rediscover all three of the Cayman Islands: Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. The country reopened to fully vaccinated international leisure guests without quarantine on 20NOV.

It's the most recent phase of a multi-phase plan to resume leisure travel to the Cayman Islands. In MAR 2020, it closed its borders to international air and sea arrivals.

Now in Phase 4 of its five-part reopening plan in collaboration between health authorities and the public and private tourism sector, the destination is confident of a safe return to tourism, offering travellers peace of mind.

At all phases, all inbound travellers are required to make a declaration of travel and vaccination status on the Travel Cayman Portal, and present the declaration certificate and vaccination documents along with proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival.

Local public Health officials will continue to monitor the rate and spread of COVID-19 on the Cayman Islands.
