U.S. Airline JetBlue has announced further details on new routes to YVR from JFK and BOS, set to begin in JUN 2022.

Open Jaw previously announced that the low-cost carrier would be expanding to Canada back on 22APR 2021, as part of the next phase of its “Northeast Alliance” partnership with American Airlines.

As reported by Simple Flying, the JFK to YVR route is set to begin on 09JUN 2022 using JetBlue’s A320 with daily service. The return trip from YVR to JFK will happen the following day.

The BOS to YVR route will take off on 12JUN 2022 using the carrier’s 140-seat A220-300 aircraft six-times weekly. The return trip from YVR to BOS will also happen the following day.

Simple Flying also speculates that JetBlue may operate a route from YVR to FLL, the airline’s third busiest airport, which could enable the carrier to capture demand from Vancouver to the Caribbean and Latin America.

“Almost since day one, both our customers and crew members have been asking us to add flights to the middle of the country and into Canada,” said Scott Laurence, JetBlue’s head of revenue and planning, when the airline’s expansion to Canada was first announced back in APR 2021.

“We can’t wait to shake up the status quo in these markets currently dominated by high-fare carriers.”
