Canada Jetlines Receives CTA Approval for Flights to Europe, Caribbean

Canada Jetlines YYZ-YVR

In a series of announcements from 01FEB 2023, the Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) has approved Canada Jetlines to fly to Europe and select destinations in the Caribbean, decisions which will allow the new leisure airline to vastly expand its international service.

"We are very pleased with the outcome of our applications and of course look forward to working with travel agents across our entire network. We continue to work with Regulators and travel destination partners as we plan out an exciting network," Canada Jetlines' Chief Commercial Officer, Duncan Bureau, told Open Jaw.

For each approval, Jetlines was authorized to operate scheduled international service to the destinations with large aircraft. In the approvals, the CTA said it was satisfied that Jetlines met all of the applicable requirements.

In addition to members of the European community, Jetlines applied for, and received approval to fly to the following Caribbean destinations:

  • Antigua and Barbuda
  • Cuba
  • Jamaica
  • Saint Lucia

Start dates and flight schedules for the newly-approved destinations have not yet been released.

Shortly after receiving approval for Mexico flights, Jetlines announced Cancun as its next international destination.

The news comes after Jetlines received final approval for U.S. flights in DEC 2022.
