CTA Authorizes WestJet to Offer Code Share Flights to 4 New Asian Destinations

The Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) has granted licenses to WestJet to operate, through code sharing, new scheduled international service to four destinations in Asia.

In four separate rulings dated 07MAR, the CTA authorized the airline to fly scheduled code share flights to the Philippines, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore.

The agency said it's "satisfied that the applicant meets all the applicable requirements."

WestJet itself hasn't commented on the successful CTA application, scheduled any code share flights to those destinations, announced any new airline code share partners or enhancements to any airline partnerships.

The Alberta-based airline had previously announced plans to fly from Calgary to Tokyo.
