In another indication of the increasing focus on rail travel in Europe and replacement of short haul flights with rail, Air Transat is resuming its Train + Air offer, a service that combines air and train service, in partnership with the SNCF.
The service lets passengers pair an Air Transat flight to Paris with railway travel to 18 cities in France and Belgium, or to combine both means of transport for the return trip to Canada.
The Train + Air offer is now available for bookings made through GDS for travel starting 27MAR, 2023. It will also be available via the Air Transat website in the coming weeks.
Transat says in a new feature, the travel experience is now entirely digital. Travellers can now board their train directly by presenting their e-ticket, which they can download from the AccesRail website.
