Arajet achieved the title "Best Startup Airline" at the CAPA Awards during the World Aviation Summit, where nine other global aviation and airport awards were presented.

As a Dominican Republic-based airline, Arajet emerged as the most innovative among over 20 airlines that commenced operations in the last three years. The CAPA Awards acknowledged Arajet for having the most significant impact on the global aviation industry. The airline currently operates six new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft and is set to conclude the year with a fleet of eight.

Víctor Pacheco Méndez, the CEO and founder of Arajet, expressed gratitude for the distinction, stating, "We are very proud of this award, which is the recognition of a dream come true."

Pacheco Méndez emphasized that Arajet's inception aimed to enable the Dominican diaspora to travel to the country at affordable prices. Within just one year, Arajet has transformed the Dominican Republic into the new Hub of the American Continent, connecting 22 destinations across 16 countries and offering more than 150 connection possibilities.

Other notable winners included Alaska Airlines for Best Airline/Airline Group of the Year and London Gatwick Airport for Best Large Airport.

Pacheco Méndez dedicated the award to the Dominican people and the more than 400 Arajet employees.

Open Jaw flew on one of Arajet’s new Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft from Toronto to Santo Domingo on 17NOV.

At Arajet's hub in the DR, CEO Victor Pacheco shared with Open Jaw’s Natasha McKenty that the new carrier is off to a solid start, actively "chasing leads" to curate packages for Canadians.
