Lynx Air has announced plans to expand its U.S. network in 2024.
The ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) will introduce new routes connecting Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to two U.S. destinations, Boston (BOS) and San Francisco (SFO).
Lynx will open service between YYZ and BOS on 28MAR 2024. Initially, the airline will operate the route four times weekly, rising to six weekly flights starting 22APR 2024, according to Aviation Week.
The San Francisco route will be flown four times weekly beginning 03MAY 2024, with daily service commencing 11JUN.
"Adding Boston and San Francisco to our ever-expanding network is a significant milestone for our airline," Chief Commercial Officer Vijay Bathija said in a statement.
"We are proud to offer an ultra-affordable link to connect the Toronto area market to both the U.S. east and west coast. Our strategy is to fly to destinations where airfares are historically high and low-cost options are limited."
As Open Jaw reported, Lynx launched its inaugural flight to the U.S. on 27JAN 2023, departing from YYZ and arriving at the new Terminal C at Orlando (MCO). Since then, the airline has opened non-stop flights from YYZ and Montreal Pierre Trudeau International Airport (YUL) to Tampa International Airport (TPA).
Service from YYZ to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Phoenix Sky Harbor International (PHX) began in AUG and OCT, respectively. In AUG, Lynx added service from YUL to Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS).
Cancun will be the ULCC's first destination in Mexico, with flights from Toronto starting 15FEB 2024.
