Meghan Boyd, Team Leader at Toronto's Pacesetter Travel

Do you have a specialty? My team of six specializes in what we call 'The Idyllic Islands' – Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Tahiti, and others. We truly know these products and you can't get that info from the internet. We find it really pays to stick with selling what you know.

What was your biggest individual sale? $60,000 for a couple who did a round-the-world trip.

What drives you crazy? These five words: 'I was on the internet…'

Do you have a magic sentence to close the sale? 'Would you like me to book that for you?' You've got to ask for the business.

Any time management strategies? A to-do list in Word. I'll update it several times a day.

How do you cope with jet lag? I believe a lot of it's mind over matter –  think positive and get into a normal routine as soon as possible.

What do you do to keep you clients loyal? We get a lot of repeat clients because we show passion and enthusiasm from the start.

What's the best piece of advice you ever received? 'Fortune favours the brave.' I love that.

What do Canadians think of Australians?  As a rule they love us. We have similar values and humour. But people always ask me about the creepy bugs and snakes as though Australia was full of them!
