with Susan Webb, President of VoX International Inc

How long have you been in the business? Since 1978, when I started as a travel agent at Lawson McKay Travel.

How many people work for you?  We're up to 19. Our clients are Las Vegas, Massachusetts, Nevada, Texas, the CTO, Occidental Resorts, and our newest client, Kenya.

What's the best part of the job? Seeing the company grow - it's lots of fun and we get to be very creative. I also really enjoy the diversity of the clients.

What did you want to be as a kid? Teacher, actress or lawyer. But I went to Europe one summer and figured out there had to be a way to make money in travel!

What skill or talent do you admire in someone? The ability to motivate and lead.

What's the scariest thing you've ever done? Ziplining in Costa Rica, because I'm so afraid of heights.

Any guilty pleasures? Red wine and champagne!

What's your favourite airline? Right now it's Air Canada. I'm really impressed with their service lately.

What do people not know about you? That I'm a grandmother of three.

What's on your iPod? Everything from Michael Buble to Michael Jackson to ABBA.

What will be the biggest challenge for the industry in the next 12 months? I think getting back to the level where we were. We have to have that confidence.

Who do you most respect in the industry? Lots of people, but I really respect my team at VoX because they get better every day.

If you could change one thing about the industry what would it be? Too many emails. We need more face to face meetings. And respect for the front line travel agent.

What's your worst habit? I don't smoke anymore, which is good. (Thinks) I should ask everyone here, they'd tell you!

What do you hope to be doing in 10 years? Working less and spending winters somewhere warm, but still involved in the business. I can't imagine not being involved with VoX!
