Where were you born? North Vancouver

How long have you been in the business? Since 1998.

What’s the best part of the job? Getting to know our staff in other countries. (I also work with Ireland and the U.K.).

What was your first job? House-keeping for a hotel. Oh yeah, does that ever give you a good work ethic!

What skill or talent do you admire in someone? Public speaking. That’s my nemesis.

What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever done? (laughs) Public speaking! No really: riding a sea-doo at 100 km plus. I was scared to death.

Any guilty pleasures? A fantastic glass of white wine.

What’s your favourite airline? That’s a loaded question! But I do have status with Delta.

Any hobbies or interests? I like working out – and am starting yoga.

What was your proudest moment? At the birth of my three children, who are now 36, 34 and 32.

What will be the biggest challenge for the industry in the next 12 months? For suppliers to fill their capacities – selling Europe is going to be a challenge.

Who do you most respect in the industry? TRAVELSAVERS’ Rick Mazza and his daughter Nicole Mazza – they’re a wonderful company and wonderful people.

What is your greatest extravagance? My home in Arizona.

If you could change one thing about the industry what would it be? More young people.

What’s your worst habit? Biting my nails.

Do you have a favourite charity? World Vision.

What is your major bugbear about travelling? Delayed flights.

How much do you travel each year? About a week a month.

Is there anything you won’t eat? Turnips and green beans.

What do you hope to be doing in 10 years? Still working – part time in the industry.
