Where were you born? In Scarborough.
How long have you been in the business? 13 years.
Tell me about your 1st airplane ride. On British Airways – I remember having a great time – I always loved planes.
Do you have a specialty? I deal with photographers and yoga trips, mindful meditation. I like to customize stuff like that.
If you could have any job in the business what would it be? I’m doing it now. I work from home, I have flexibility like I never did before. It’s easier for my clients as well.
What was your best FAM? I did an independent FAM to Jamaica with my husband and he got to see what I do. Now he feels more part of the business.
What drives you crazy? Disorganization (laughs long and loud).
What was your biggest individual sale? $50,000 - an African safari for a family of 6.
What’s the 1st thing you do when you get into a hotel room? I look at the bathroom. Isn’t that such a woman thing!
Do you have any time management strategies? Absolutely! My iPhone – everything is on my calendar and I’m also old school in that I write everything down.
How do you address the topic of service charges with your clients? I just tell them. I’ve never had any resistance – perhaps because I’m self-employed they get that.
What do you do to keep your clients loyal? I go above and beyond. I have clients who tell me that their agents won’t explain web check-in to them! I’ll call Disney dining, for example. And I get referrals because of that.
What’s the best piece of advice you ever received? “Start to charge service fees.”
If you had to spend 6 mo. in a destination, which 1 would you pick? Somewhere where I could relax, do yoga, meditate. Thailand maybe.
