Where were you born? In Malmö, Sweden.
How long have you been in the business? Since 1985, starting at Wardair in yield.
What’s the best part of the job? My clients! Love my clients - Cuba Cruises, Louis Cruises, Colorado and an array of high-end Caribbean hotels.
What did you want to be as a kid? (Laughs) A figure skater.
What was your 1st job? Selling Lolas (a frozen drink) at the food and beverage building at the CNE.
What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever done? Skydiving.
Any guilty pleasures? Smartfood popcorn. Definitely… I can eat a whole bag in one sitting!
Do you have a favourite travel app? Air Canada’s.
What do people not know about you? That I ride a Harley.
Any hobbies or interests? My cottage in Haliburton – I love being there.
What skill or talent do you admire in someone? The ability to sing. I am completely tone deaf and scare my cat when I sing.
Is there anything you won’t eat? Liver.
What’s your favourite place for a business lunch? Riz, a Thai fusion restaurant on Bayview Avenue here in Toronto.
How do you spend your frequent flyer points? I haven’t – I have over 800,000 points.
What was your proudest moment? Starting Klint + Associates. Should have done it long ago – I’m incredibly happy.
What is your greatest extravagance? Good food and wine.
How do you stay fit when you travel? What’s fit?!
If you could change one thing about the industry what would it be? The perception that travel agents don’t bring value.
If you could sit next to anyone on a long-haul flight, who would it be? My partner, Mark.
Do you have a favourite charity? Without a doubt the Humane Society, or anything to do with animals.
What will be the biggest challenge for the industry in the next 12 months? Overcapacity, consolidation, and on a positive note, dealing with dynamic packaging.
What do you hope to be doing in 10 years? Sitting on my dock with a good glass of white wine!
