Where were you born? Quebec City.
How long have you been in the business? Almost 25 years. Yup!
How many people work for you? I’m it for Canada, but in North America we are about 200.
What’s the best part of the job? Visiting agencies and meeting agents – and travelling across Canada.
What did you want to be as a kid? A dentist. (laughs)
What was your 1st job? Window cleaning in a restaurant overlooking the St. Lawrence River. Tons of spiders and I’m scared of them!
Any guilty pleasures? Food – especially salty treats.
What’s your favourite airline? Ho! At this point, Lufthansa. The service they offer is amazing. Great all the way.
Do you have a favourite travel app? Tripit – love Tripit.
What’s on your iPad? Pictures, some games, several newpapers – even Spanish ones.
What do people not know about you? I’m a father of 2 daughters, aged 24 and 22. They’re in Quebec City.
Any hobbies or interests? I love going to the gym – watching tennis and football.
When were you happiest? When I’m travelling, even for work.
What skill or talent do you admire in someone? Athleticism.
Is there anything you won’t eat? Spiders!
What’s your favourite place for a business lunch? Pangaea, in Yorkville here in Toronto.
Ever had a brush with fame? The Canadian singer, Corey Hart.
What keeps you awake at night? Nothing. I sleep hard.
How do you spend your frequent flyer points? On flights, such as a trip to California last March.
What was your proudest moment? Becoming a father.
What is your greatest extravagance? Travel. 5 star hotels - when I can afford it!
How do you stay fit when you travel? I go to the gym at the hotel, almost every day.
If you could change one thing about the industry what would it be? More cohesiveness. If agencies could work together they’d get a lot more from suppliers.
If you could sit next to anyone on a long-haul flight, who would it be? My partner and my kids.
Do you have a favourite charity? Children’s Wish Foundation.
What will be the biggest challenge for the industry in the next 12 months? The devaluation of the Canadian dollar.
What do you hope to be doing in 10 years? The same job! Love it!
