Uniworld Announces "Rivers of the World" 55-Day Cruise from Lima to Ho Chi Minh City in 2024

Uniworld Mekong Jewel

Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has announced its second annual Rivers of the World cruise for 2024. The 55-day itinerary departs on 03OCT, 2024  from Lima, Peru, and will take 68 guests on a once-in-a-lifetime journey spanning across three continents, 10 countries, and four Uniworld ships, including new-to-Uniworld destinations, special surprises and exclusive experiences.

“We’re thrilled to debut our second Rivers of the World sailing, back by popular demand, for 2024” said Ellen Bettridge, President and CEO of Uniworld Boutique River Cruises. “Our guests are not only planning to travel more, but they are seeking longer trip durations that can cross off bucket list destinations in one trip. That’s why we’re excited to be announcing this new sailing with an even longer, farther-reaching itinerary, bringing our guests across South America, Europe and Southeast Asia for the ultimate action-packed luxury journey.”

Inclusions

The Rivers of the World itinerary is all-inclusive of onboard dining, unlimited premium wine, beer and spirits, Wi-Fi, excursions, scheduled airport transfers, onboard gratuities and flights between cruise segments. The sailing also features a dedicated Traveling Concierge that will accompany guests for the entire journey to assist with all needs. Guests will set sail aboard four unique ships, each a distinctive floating boutique hotel designed to reflect the destinations in which they sail.

Uniworld’s new Rivers of the World cruise starts at US$49,399 per person and is open for bookings.

South American Leg

The trip begins in the Peruvian Amazon with a celebratory beach kick-off party and land stay at the renowned Country Club Lima Hotel, followed by a weeklong cruise aboard one of the two river ships, the Aria Amazon or Aqua Nera. Guests will continue with a land stay at the Tambo del Inka Hotel in the Sacred Valley visiting Cusco and Machu Picchu. Then, two Rivers of the World-exclusive hotel stays will complete the South America trip portion: first at Belmond’s Hotel del Cataratas to visit Iguazu Falls from both the Argentinian and Brazilian sides, and a night at the Belmond Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro.

European Leg

Continuing the itinerary, the group flies to Amsterdam to cruise the Rhine, Main and Danube Rivers on board the S.S. Beatrice. Here, they’ll travel through four countries over 16 days, getting a taste for the varied delights of Central Europe along the way, including a Private Mozart & Strauss Concert in Austria. Next, guests will head to France and board the S.S. Catherine for seven nights, indulging in the fine wine and cuisines throughout Burgundy and Provence, along with an immersive art and music experience at Carrières des Lumières.

South-east Asia Leg

To cap off the 'world' river cruise tour, guests will be off to Hanoi in Southeast Asia staying at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi. Here, the adventures will commence with an overnight cruise in UNESCO World Heritage site, Halong Bay, to see some of the 1,600 islands and limestone pillars. Guests will have exclusive access to Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom in Siem Reap, Cambodia, and will be treated to a candlelight dinner at the Kravan Temple built in the 10th century during the reign of Harshavarman before embarking on Uniworld’s Super Ship, the Mekong Jewel, to experience the splendor of the Mekong River. The fourth and final cruise will disembark in My Tho, where guests will then transfer to The Park Hyatt Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City for their final land stay and grand finale gala dinner event at the stylish rooftop Chill Skybar with spectacular views of the Saigon skyline.
