Walt Disney World Resort Begins 18 Months of 50th Anniversary Celebrations in OCT

Walt Disney World Resort is celebrating its 50th anniversary with, “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” beginning 01OCT 2021. The event will span 18 months, and will feature new experiences for each of the Resort's four theme parks.

For each theme park, icons will glow at night with the company's EARidescent technology. Examples include pixie dust at Cinderella Castle, fireflies under the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom, and new lights resembling stars at EPCOT, among others.

New golden sculptures are also set to appear as "Disney Fab 50," featuring 50 characters overall.

Mickey, Minnie, and other classic Disney characters will also appear in new outfits to celebrate. Mickey and Minnie will also be the hosts of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration," among other cast members.

Magic Kingdom Park

Magic Kingdom Park will host a new nighttime show, "Disney Enchantment," debuting 01OCT 2021, featuring fireworks, enhanced lighting, and new projection effects.

EPCOT

Another nighttime show, "Harmonious," will be show at EPCOT, featuring new interpretations of classic Disney songs, sung in more than dozen languages by 240 diverse artists.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is also set for a grand opening on 01OCT in the newly expanded French pavilion, a family-friendly attraction featuring a new restaurant, a Crêperie de Paris.

Animal Kingdom

A new daytime show will be featured several times daily at Animal Kingdom, "Disney KiteTails," inside the Discovery River Amphitheatre. Performances feature kites and wind catchers, some up to 30 feet long.
