Playa Announces New BDM's for Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada

L-R: Christopher Jeffrey-Racine, Business Development Manager for Quebec and Atlantic Canada; Andi Bacho, Business Development Manager, Ontario

The Playa Hotels & Resorts sales team in Canada has expanded with two new BDM's.

Effective 16JAN, Christopher Jeffrey-Racine is the new Business Development Manager for Quebec and Atlantic Canada and Andi Bacho is BDM in Ontario.

Jeffrey-Racine and Bacho bring over 30+ years of combined travel industry experience in various segments to the resort company.

Jeffrey-Racine is based in Montreal started his career in travel with Transat Holidays as a Commercial Delegate and Destination Representative in the Dominican Republic.  When he returned to Canada, he began his journey as a BDM in the Quebec market with Transat Holidays and most recently Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the Playa family and returning to my first love of business development on the road! Their broad and exquisite range of hotels is truly exciting, and I can't wait to show them to the agents, whom I also look forward to seeing again! In the last thirteen years, I have gained representation experience and developed some great partnerships. Back on the road, I want to continue to reach out and meet with agencies and their teams," said Jeffrey-Racine.

Bacho started her industry experience in Santiago, Chile as a Travel Advisor and transitioned to Bilingual Customer Service Rep for Air France at the Santiago, Chile International Airport.  She continued her work in Travel over the past 20 years in Ontario in various customer-facing roles including her most recent role as Travel Advisor at LatitudesPlus Smart Travel.

She said, “I am thrilled to be joining the Playa Family at an exciting time in the company's growth.  I look forward to leveraging my experience in service & travel to provide support to Travel advisors, create new relationships and to continue to look for new areas of growth, across Ontario.”

The team growth in Canada comes as Playa expands its portfolio including recent openings of Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya, Jewel Punta Cana and Jewel Palm Beach.

Playa Hotels & Resorts says it recognizes the importance of working with the travel agency community and believes the additional support that the new BDM's will bring to the Canada market will support a strong and focused presence for Playa in the beach vacation segment.
