Zoetry in Mayan Riviera Closes; To Reopen as Marriott

The historic Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita closed on 22DEC.

Zoetry’s beloved Sofia

The property was a unique adult hideaway, where a pair of peacocks roam free and families of Coati scamper along the paths. Quiet and serene with a beautiful beach, it had a loyal following despite being somewhat tired and the suites needing upgrades.

The break with Hyatt and subsequent closure is speculated to be the result of owners not reinvesting in the property.

Open Jaw has been told the property will reopen in a few months under the Marriott banner.
