With endorsements from Oprah as well as playing host to ABC’s hit show The Bachelor, you’d think the Jade Mountain and Anse Chastanet resorts of St. Lucia would take their foot off the proverbial promotion gas pedal. However, if they’re going to insist on hosting a party at Toronto’s chi-chi Sassafraz restaurant, offering up free drinks and delicious food, I’m not going to question their motives. But, I do believe it’s a nice nod to the importance of the Canadian market to this island destination for them to come here and reinforce their growing worldwide acclaim. In 2009, Jade Mountain and Anse Chastanet were named the Caribbean’s number 1 and number 4 resorts respectively by Travel & Leisure in their World’s Best Awards.

These resorts are premium tropical destinations, set on 600 acres of lush Caribbean rainforest. The things that set Jade Mountain and Anse Chastanet apart are the variety of activities on offer and the detailed attention to every aspect of the guest experience. To give you an idea of the kind of detail I’m talking about, Nick Troubetzkoy, the architect and owner of both resorts, delayed the opening of Jade Mountain by a full year because he couldn’t get a particular tile he liked for one of the rooms.

Normally this kind of detail is a little out of reach for the average Canadian vacationer, however, this summer, Jade and Anse are offering up some great deals to Canadians with free room and meal upgrades for honeymooners. Also, an incentive offer for Canadian travel agents from both resorts is a ‘book 5 nights and earn 1 free night’ campaign. With amazing summer access from both WestJet with 2 weekly flights and Air Canada with 4 weekly flights from Toronto, agents should have no trouble racking up some free night stays.
