At an intimate cocktail in downtown Toronto, Air Canada Vacations reminded a group of travel industry suits that travel is all about anticipation, discovery and wild excitement. In a word, Passion.
CEO Zeina Gedeon spoke briefly about rediscovering the magical aspects of travel that consumers long for. This winter’s “Passion” megalogue is an ambitious attempt at capturing those emotions in a format agents can sell.
When retailers are battling it out for every marginal nickel, sometimes it’s easy to forget we’re selling a dream. But VP Sales & Marketing Nino Montagnese let slip the news that shortly, ACV will help ease some financial strain by including fees in the price of the package – providing agents with a higher commission. And what better to way to woo retailers than by plying them with wine, chocolate and a bigger commission.
The always seductive ACV staffers were well represented – as was Air Canada, with a guest appearance by the dapper Director of Passenger Sales, Peter Wilson.
All in all, a graceful evening.
