Goway Is In To Africa
with Suzanne Christie

Goway’s AfricaExperts held their 2nd annual Africa Week in Toronto recently with 25 of their visiting partner specialists in attendance. Travel agents who were serious about learning how to sell the very diverse East and Southern Africa product Goway has on offer in their newly launched 2011 Canadian Edition Middle East & Africa Experts brochure had ample opportunity to get the inside scoop.

Besides the opportunity to meet and chat with each of the specialists on hand, Moira Smith and Bharat Shah offered detailed presentations on the highlights of their African portfolio. Moira, who heads up Goway’s Africa division, is most definitely an expert on the experiences her native South Africa has to offer along with neighbouring Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. The opportunities for diverse cultural, scenic and game viewing vacations are unique and, of course, South Africa is still basking in the glow of success this year’s World Cup spotlight shed on its scenery and its people.

Bharat is the Marketing Director of Vintage Africa, the inbound company Goway uses in East Africa, and hails from Kenya. He is very upbeat about the growing strength of the tourist market in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda. More travellers are discovering how fascinating and truly enjoyable a safari style holiday can be and Bharat says now is the time go as prices will only go up in step with the increased demand. World travellers have become very resilient and just one year after election violence in 2008 ruined Kenya’s tourism market, the tourists were back with stronger numbers than ever. Major road improvements are in progress throughout the country but the tourism infrastructure does have its limits, so Bharat’s key message is…“Now is the time to go.”
