Mix 1½ oz of SKYY vodka with a splash of white cranberry juice and lemonade. Add frosty blueberries, garnish with lemon and you have yourself a signature Have You Done It? cocktail -- the perfect drink to sip while soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of a VIP Euro Bash, Contiki style.
It was in Toronto’s Entertainment District at Maison Mercer Lounge Night Club that Contiki Holidays recently kicked off its summer Europe brochure. Sponsors of the evening included the Spanish Tourism Board, Lady Dutch clothing, Skyy Vodka and Universal Music.
Over 400 invited guests (travel industry folk and Contiki enthusiasts) gathered to mingle, eat, drink, lounge and groove the night away. Simply put, “we wanted to bring people together to have a good time,” said Brad Ford, president of Contiki Holidays Canada. "The idea for us with this event tonight [is] to show agents how we’re different, how we offer clients something that’s a little more special.”
Canadian pop/R&B singer Shawn Desmond was emcee for the evening and introduced each segment of the evening. Although there were no long or formal presentations, Ford took a few moments to "share the love" and thank guests, especially agents, for their support. Special recognition was given to top selling agent Trevor Ducherer of Uniglobe GEO, Edmonton who sold 63 Contiki trips in 2010.
Ford also talked about the current viral marketing effort - a tongue in cheek campaign that asks viewers Have You Done It? Have you been on a double-decker bus in London? Have you seen the view from the top of the Eiffel Tower? Have you been on a Contiki trip? That’s what Contiki wants to know. “Our Euro bash is a celebration of Contiki Holidays in being the leader for youth travel, and our new Europe summer brochure has 76 itineraries which offer an array of cultural excursions, unique properties and amazing nightlife.”
The night was certainly alive at this event. Canadian Juno Award-winning singer songwriter Keshia Chanté later gave an electric performance that had guests burning up the dance floor.
Models adorned in head to toe body paint in the form of notable European works of art were on hand to strike a pose and added a splash of Euro-flare to the décor.
And what’s a party without food? Toronto’s own The Food Dudes were in house serving up fine fusion apps…Euro-style, of course.
