Insight's Cris David & Carla Brake in festive Indian garb
Flower garlands, dinner & conversation
In celebration of the launch of their new India & Nepal program, Insight invited top agent partners to a taste of the sub-continent’s delicious cuisine at the ubiquitous Amaya folks’ newest Toronto location, Global Bazaar.
Cris David, Insight Canada’s President says their clients have increasingly expressed interest in visiting India and they are responding with a selection of 6 itineraries, some of which also combine Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan. “At Insight we are constantly looking to develop new market offerings that meet our customers' needs and truly reflect our tagline, "The Art of Touring in Style". When it came to introducing a new destination in 2012, India was the obvious choice,” says David.
Sales Manager Carla Brake provided an overview of the 4 Premium Insight itineraries and the 2 Insight Gold luxury offerings that will run from September 2012 through March 2013. In true Insight style, they have contracted some of the most outstanding properties that were once private palaces or vacation spots for royalty including the Taj Lake Palace (one of the settings in the James Bond flic Octupussy) and Agra’s Amar Villas where every room has a view of the Taj Mahal.
Besides its scenery, temples, cuisine and wildlife, India is also famous for its luxurious spas and many of the hotels in Insight’s portfolio offer spa services at very reasonable prices.
Cris explained that, “India is a country where hospitality is deeply ingrained in the culture and visitors are greeted everywhere they go with flower garlands and warm smiles... making it the perfect addition to Insight's worldwide lineup of "bucket-list" destinations."
As they say in India, “Atitha Devo Bhav... The Guest Is God – or as Sears’ Sal Buccellato translated during the quiz portion of the evening, “The Tourist Is God”. Close enough – Cris awarded that one to Sal and he walked off with top prize for his Insight India product knowledge.
