Inside 1 King West's Grand Banking Hall

The WestJet team
The YTO soiree, held at the art deco 1 King West building, was described as a product information night. But there was a definite TIFF afterglow to the affair as WestJet took the red carpet role of Canadian airline star of the past decade.
The slick videos, colourful graphs and imposing music had one message, and one message alone -- WestJet is big and getting bigger every day. More destinations. More planes. More profits. More code shares. But, as depicted in a companywide laugh track video, they still know how to have a good time.
The training focused mainly on WestJet Vacations offerings for the coming winter season. The numbers are impressive. 47 destinations; 481 flights a week; 95 to Mexico; 81 to various Caribbean islands and 305 to U.S. destinations including Hawaii. The U.S. focus is to a large extent on Newark flights to the Big Apple, and the continued Vegas dominance.
Travel agents lapped it all up, along with their sit down, white table cloth dinner and double chocolate mousse dessert.
Prizes were also given away – from trips to T-shirts, travel agents can’t get enough WestJet.
