Almost 170 agents from across the GTA and reps from Hola Sun, Sunwing and Nolitours gathered last week for the Cubanacan Santiago de Cuba presentation dinner in Mississauga. Dinner was delicious and guests had the opportunity to meet Javier Domokos Ruiz, the Consul General of Cuba in Toronto. Live Cuban entertainment was also plentiful, as a singer belted out Spanish songs to an accompanying keyboard player.
It was Neorvis Garcia’s, Sales Director of Carisol – Los Corales Resort, first time visiting Canada. He walked agents through the 6 Cubanacan properties located in Santiago de Cuba and the amenities featured in each. Unfortunately, his presentation was marred by technical difficulties when the promotional video encountered some audio issues.
Nevertheless, there’s no doubt that Santiago de Cuba is a beautiful place. As the 2nd most important city of the country after Havana, the destination has much to offer including 3 world heritage designations – Morro Castle; a historical coffee plantation; and La Tumba Francesa, a traditional cultural dance – and an annual Carnival that’s great fun.
According to Garcia, Santiago de Cuba, which is rich in culture and history is the ideal destination for clients looking for more than the typical sun and beach vacation. Since Cubanacan’s 6 properties in Santiago de Cuba range from 3 to 5 stars, there are a variety of options.
