Every elevator at the Westin received Vision branding
Take 275 Vision Travel employees and reps from over 60 preferred suppliers, add 12 hours of professional development and presentations and combine all that with 2 amazing evenings (fireworks coming out of the centrepieces at dinner?). You’d pretty much have the Vision Travel Solutions annual Power of Vision conference, held last weekend at the Westin in Montreal.
A weekend of learning, bonding , laughter and more than a little dancing, the 6th annual conference was declared by all to be a huge success. Senior execs shared topline financial info with the team, Air Canada’s Duncan Bureau gave a presentation that managed to combine humour with a state-of-the-union speech and keynote speaker Canadian Ray Zahab left the group stunned, amused and with dropped jaws as he described running across the Sahara. Yes, running from the Atlantic Ocean to Cairo.
And as with any of these events, networking and camaraderie was in full swing. When a company like Vision grows through acquisition of major players such as New Wave Travel and Sunquest’s Meeting and Incentive business, it always helps to meet and mingle with your colleagues.
COO Brian Roberston earned a long round of applause with his announcement of $621 million in sales at Vision during their last fiscal year. And yes, the company will continue to expand, through continuing acquisitions in Canada and (drumroll) into the U.S.
As one agent remarked when she saw the large pillars outside the hotel decorated with Vision Travel logos: “It makes me feel so proud!”
