We get to go to lots of events in this business, but it’s rare to have one without a sales pitch.. but such is the case with the Globus family of brands’ annual appreciation luncheon hosted by Stéphanie Bishop. Each year the company welcomes a raft of preferred retailers, tourist boards and other corporate suppliers to a very pleasant lunch.
As she does every year, Stéphanie emphasizes that the event is just to say thank you. Held at Sassafraz Restaurant in Toronto’s swank Yorkville, the group – numbering about 40 – enjoyed a memorable lunch and engaged in loud and fun conversations with their colleagues.
Seen in the crowd were a host of industry luminaries including Vacation.com’s Christine Jame; Ensemble’s Chris Lackstrom; The Travel Agent Next Door’s Flemming Friisdahl; VoX’s Susan Webb; Cruise Strategies’ Vanessa Lee, herself the godmother of an Avalon Waterways ship and Littleton, Colorado-based Globus President & CEO Scott Nisbet.
Tourist board execs from countries as diverse as Thailand and Ireland, Peru and China were also present.
Bishop thanked all of her staff including those on hand - Director of Sales Kim Clarke; Marketing Manager Patrice Geske; Call Centre Manager Carm Orr (30 years with the company) and Opertions Manager Antonella Santia, celebrating an impressive 35 years with Globus.
And certainly the appreciation went both ways. Comments from attendees included: “a fabulous partner”; “a really supportive team”; “we love the groups department” and “great product, great team – we love working with them!”
