Innovating & Celebrating Like A Norwegian
with Ming Tappin

Dana proudly introduces Norwegian's Canadian sales team in pictures.

Ramon's humour kept the group's attention during the product update.

Team Pitchford from Flight Centre Associates - (l-r) Marnie, Charlie & Susan Pitchford enjoyed the presentation.

Norwegian Cruise Line dropped by Vancouver last week on a 6 city road show across Canada. Meant to be an intimate gathering, the invite-only event saw 45 agents at the historic Hart House restaurant for dinner and a product update by Vancouver-based BDM Ramon Jacinto and Toronto-based National Director of Sales Dana Gain.

Always on the ball, Ramon kept the entire group entertained throughout the evening, injecting his trademark deadpan humour into the presentation. It certainly kept our attention as he took us through details of the upcoming China-based Norwegian Joy, update to Norwegian’s groups program and the planned $400M investment to improve the fleet, private islands and onboard culinary experience.

As Ramon guided us through a "day in the life" onboard a Norwegian cruise, it really reinforced the fact that cruising has something for everyone. Whether traveling alone, with a spouse, friends or multi-generational family, a cruise provides endless options that can delight everyone without anyone having to compromise. And with the Free at Sea promotion, clients can pick their own added value amenities.

Another bit of good news - cruisers are now booking close to 5 months in advance, further out than last year. Early booking will hopefully alleviate price erosion and last minute discounts, which we will all appreciate.

I met the Pitchfords from Flight Centre Associates who are big supporters of Norwegian. Promoting Norwegian's many "firsts" in the cruise industry, such as private island, open dining concept and children's programs has garnered success for the Pitchford family team. They have also sold many solo clients on the studio cabins on the Breakaway class ships - another industry-first innovation - all receiving favourable feedback.

Dana was proud to reiterate that with one of the largest Canadian-based sales teams, including a highly anticipated announcement of a 2nd BDM for Western Canada, agents have excellent access to support to help grow their business. And as Norwegian Cruise Line celebrates its 50th anniversary this December, we are looking forward to more innovations to come.
