The Festival of Lights at VanDusen Gardens provided a great backdrop for AeroMexico's event.

AeroMexico hosted an appreciation evening at the VanDusen Gardens in Vancouver last week, coinciding with the annual Festival of Lights. The Gardens were adorned with over one million lights, illuminating the crisp evening with brightly lit trees, hanging ornaments and festive displays. Attendees were treated to a reception, with music by a Mariachi band, and the opportunity to stroll the Gardens compliments of AeroMexico.

The airline's Vancouver-based Market Manager Neil Prasad & Toronto-based Regional Sales Director Michele Martinson hosted 50 guests from top producing agencies, corporate clients and valued partners including members of the Mexican Consul & YVR Airport Authority. It was a time to thank everyone for their support and celebrate the success of AeroMexico since it launched direct service from YVR to MEX a year ago.

Stavros Kotsireas of Flight Centre was one of the top producers invited to the event. Stavros looks after trade partnerships in the Americas for Flight Centre and works with AeroMexico to contract fares for leisure and corporate travel. With nonstop flights from YVR to MEX, Flight Centre agents are able to sell air only, or add hotels and tours to help clients customize their Mexican vacations. Their corporate clients travelling to Mexico and beyond also enjoy great options with AeroMexico.

Other attendees included Sumeet Bains of Bains Travel who commented that their South America bound clients also take advantage of AeroMexico's great connections via MEX. He tells me that AeroMexico's pricing is competitive and the routing is better than flying with American carriers. Also in attendance was Arturo Hernandez of My Planet / Mi Tierra Holidays, who brought his team to the event. The agency has been a strong selling partner since 1997, and is thankful for the expanded frequency as well as the wonderful partnership with Neal and Michele.

Mexico is more than the AI resorts on the Caribbean and Pacific coasts, inland cities have much to offer with history, cuisine and culture. And now with 10 flights per week on AeroMexico as well as a codeshare partnership with WestJet, Canadians can access all of Mexico, as well as well connect beyond to Central and South America with ease.
