It’s become something of a tradition: each January, Stéphanie
Bishop of the Globus family of brands invites industry A-listers to a lunch in
Toronto’s tony Yorkville neighbourhood and says, simply, thank you.

This year’s event was attended by senior execs including
Ensemble’s Lindsay Pearlman, Chris Lackstrom and Franca Iuele; Christine James
from Travel Leaders; CTW’s Una O’Leary; CAA’s Dianne Jackson and Flemming
Friisdahl and Penny Martin from TAND - to name just a few. Also present were
reps from airlines, tourist boards and the travel trade media. Bishop, managing
director for the Globus family of brands in Canada, was also careful to invite
some of the corporation’s other key suppliers such as their bankers and legal
counsel. Some 60 people in all were in attendance at the event, held at the
elegant Sassafras Restaurant.

Also present from the Globus senior management team were Kim
Clark, director of sales, Patrice Geske, marketing manager and Carm Orr,
manager, transactional sales and service, who has over 30 years with the
company.

“I say this every year: we are very lucky to have all of you
as partners in our business,” said Bishop. “We are in a relationship business
and we value that tremendously and hopefully you feel the same way!” And that
was it…no corporate video, powerpoint, no rah-rah message, just a simple thank
you.

All in all a civilized and fun way to start the weekend.
Looking forward to the ninth annual luncheon next year!
