Condor Airlines, one of Germany’s largest leisure carriers, invited travel professionals to a webinar this week to talk about the airline and its return to Canada that Open Jaw also attended.

Judi Pym, the Condor Sales Manager in Canada, presented the event to 65 attendees to follow up on the airline’s expanding service to Canada.

In fact, while originally scheduled for 2022, in JUL, the airline announced in a press release that it is returning to YYZ and YHZ from FRA on 07SEP. That’s ahead of schedule, following Ottawa’s announcement it’s reopening Canadian borders to fully vaccinated international travellers next month.

Here are details on Condor’s fall schedule to YYZ and YHZ:

  • YYZ - FRA: Operating from 07SEP through 06NOV three-times weekly on Mon, Thur, and Sat
  • YHZ - FRA: Operating from 09SEP through 04NOV two-times weekly on Mon and Thur

The restart comes nine full months ahead of the airline’s original plan to return to Canada in MAY 2022.

Pym explained that the airline is using that time to expand its service instead. Condor Airlines will be flying seasonal Canadian service to five gateways in MAY 2022: YHZ, YYZ, YYC, YVR and YXY. Service to these airports will run from MAY - OCT 2022. All these destinations are loaded in Condor’s site to reserve an early booking, but any scheduling details for this service have not yet been released.

Flights to Canada will be operated on the airline’s Boeing 767-300ER, which features either 18 or 30 business class seats, 35 premium economy seats, and 259-245 economy seats, depending on the plane’s configuration. Pym also reminded attendees that Condor is located in Terminal 3 at YYZ and Terminal 1 in FRA

After the announcement, Pym took us guests through a short chat to describe more details of Condor’s transatlantic service, as well as what the airline’s overall offering.

Condor is currently based in FRA, with access to most European capitals available from the airport with less than a 3 hour flight time. From its hub, the airline services popular European destinations such as PRA, MSQ, SOF, and BEG, among others.

Condor is interline partners with Canadian carriers WestJet and Air North as well as other international lines. Pym highlighted that interline partners will be able to check baggage through to the final destination beyond Frankfurt.

Pym highlighted that Condor offers inflight entertainment with its FlyStream service, as well as quality dining for its long-haul flights.

She also mentioned that Condor will have a new agent promotion soon, but provided no further details just yet. Be on the lookout!
