Rocky Mountaineer Launches Inaugural U.S. Route

Rocky Mountaineer's Rockies to the Red Rocks Route

On 15AUG, Rocky Mountaineer launched its first U.S. route, with a luxury train journey from Denver, Colorado to Moab, Utah. The rail line's new season for the route runs from 15AUG to 19NOV, with another seven-month season planned for 2022.

The inaugural route to the U.S. is the first step of Rocky Mountaineer's long-term plan of expanding its offerings to more destinations. The new Denver-Moab route joins the rail line's current routes in Western Canada that run between Vancouver and the towns of Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper in the Canadian Rockies.

“This new Rockies to the Red Rocks route is a celebration that has been several years in the making as we continuously seek unique locations with incredible scenery and iconic destinations that are best experienced by train,” said Peter Armstrong, Founder and Interim CEO of Rocky Mountaineer. “We look forward to welcoming guests for a train journey that delivers the incredible experience and award-winning service that Rocky Mountaineer is well known for while they enjoy the epic scenery, flavours and hospitality of the Southwest United States.”

The rail line also celebrated on Twitter, saying: "It was a special day for Rocky Mountaineer as we launched our inaugural Rockies to the Red Rocks journey, and the warm welcome we received into Glenwood Springs was amazing! Thank you to everyone who came down and we look forward to the season."

The new itinerary, Rockies to the Red Rocks, is a two-day rail journey where guests can enjoy the scenery with glass-domed train coaches, onboard storytelling, cuisine, and more. Between Denver and Glenwood Springs, guests will witness the Colorado River and canyons, while the the route between Glenwood Springs and Moab is more focused on mountain vistas, desert cliffs and rock formations. Dining options include cuisine prepared using ingredients local to the Southwestern U.S. for an immersive experience. Rocky Mountaineers' safety protocols include a new air filtration system on all trains, as well as extensive health screening and disinfecting protocols.

The route, which includes a one-night hotel  accommodation in Glenwood Springs, starts at USD $1,250 per person. Rocky Mountaineer notes that seats are still available to book for 2021.
