In honour of Travel Agent Appreciation Month, Exodus Travels is celebrating the positive impact of tourism by trading ‘Books for Bookings’ in support of the Ou River Book Boat.
Based in Nong Kiaw, Laos, the Book Boat serves 44 villages along the Ou River by delivering a regular supply of books, school supplies, educational games, and basic hygiene provisions such as soap, toothpaste, and toothbrushes to rural villages that are mostly inaccessible by road.
For every booking made in MAY, Exodus will make a donation in each booking agent’s name to Baraka Community Partnerships to fund this initiative.
“Here at Exodus, we believe in the transformative power of travel, and our partners in the agent community play a large role in helping us succeed,” says Sasha Andrews, Director of Industry Sales at Exodus Travels.
“Through this ‘Books for Bookings’ initiative, in collaboration with our friends at Baraka, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others by providing access to books and other supplies that are otherwise scarce. We feel this is a fantastic way to show our appreciation for travel agents and to celebrate the positive impact of tourism, which has the potential to create real change in the world.”
