TICO Defers Registration Renewal Fees “Until Further Notice”

TICO is deferring fees “until further notice” on annual registration renewal fees and compensation fund assessments due on or after 01APR, 2021. The Ontario travel regulator says the move was made as it recognizes that the impact of the COVID-19 crisis continues to place registrants under severe financial strain.

The announcement is an extension to a previous deferral announced in SEP 2020, in which TICO waived annual registration renewal fees owed between 01APR, 2020 to 31MAR, 2021.

TICO advises agents that the registration renewal forms and Compensation Fund assessment (Form 1) must be submitted -- without payment -- to TICO on time, consistent with required reporting timelines to support continued registration under the Travel Industry Act, 2002.

“We kindly ask that you please refrain from using couriers to send in your forms as TICO’s team continues to work remotely and request that forms be sent via email to tico@tico.ca or by using regular mail instead,” said Richard Smart, President and CEO of TICO, in a statement posted to its website.
