Canadian Association of Tour Operators' "Love Letter" to Advisors on Travel Agent Day

Brett Walker, Chairman of the Canadian Tour Operators Association (CATO)If travel advisors wonder about how highly valued they and their work are among Canada's tour operator community, this should make it crystal clear.

Open Jaw asked the Chair of the Canadian Association of Tour Operators if the organization had a message for the travel advisor and agency community on Travel Agent Day.

CATO represents dozens of companies with offices in Canada that operate outbound, inbound, and intra-Canada tour programs.

Brett Walker got back to us immediately with this moving message: "our love letter to agents," he called it.

"We’ve known each other longer than most of us can recollect. We’ve always worked alongside each other and supported each other. We’ve kindled and embraced each other’s success and rallied around each other when things didn’t quite go as planned. This industry is ours together. Your clients are our guests and together we have always made a difference. No more has that been demonstrated than the past two years.

It’s been tough but together we persevered. Through the most trying of times you didn’t give up and we didn’t give up on you. Thank you for your stamina and resilience. Thank you for your determination. Thank you for all your tireless service in the absence of any financial reward. Thank you for your kindness, your integrity and your selfless concern for others when it was needed most.

CATO members salute you and we thank you on this very special day."

With a background in broadcast news and travel lifestyles TV production, Lynn is just as comfortable behind or in front of the camera as she is slinging words into compelling stories at her laptop. Having been called a multi-media ‘content charmer’, Lynn’s other claim to fame is the ability to work 24/7, forgoing sleep until the job is done. Documented proof exists in a picture of Lynn at the closing celebrations of an intense week, standing, champagne in hand - sound asleep. That’s our kind of gal.
