ACTA Launches Survey of Travel Agency Employee Compensation, Soft Benefits

ACTA is launching a new survey, inviting all travel agency owners/managers to report on the soft benefits of being a travel agency employee.

“As we navigate recovery and continue our advocacy efforts with governments in addressing labour challenges, it is critical that we have a fulsome picture of total compensation and benefits of travel agents across Canada,” said Wendy Paradis, ACTA president.

The organization says its previous total compensation and benefits survey was conducted eight years ago in 2014, and that it needs new numbers.  "Based on Member feedback ACTA is now seeking to update with 2019 data," it says in a media release.

Updated data is a key component of ACTA’s strategy to lobby governments to invest in travel agencies by demonstrating that the travel sector offers strong employment opportunities.

Furthermore,  it points out that the information is valuable to travel agencies as they work to attract new talent and review their compensation policies.

The organization emphasizes that this particular survey focuses on travel agencies. ACTA is asking all travel agency owners/managers to complete the 2022 Total Compensation and Benefits survey.

The survey should be completed no later than 30JUNClick here to access the industry survey.

The survey of travel agencies runs concurrently with ACTA’s other compensation studies. ACTA says it's also working on "a comprehensive study with multiple stakeholders on independent travel agent compensation, which includes host agencies and independent travel agents.
