Sandals Reorganizes Unique Vacations Leadership

Unique Vacations Inc. (UVI), which represents Sandals and Beaches Resorts in Canada, has realigned its leadership team, with Gary Sadler appointed Executive Vice President of Sales & Industry Relations and Maureen Barnes-Smith now the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Canada.

“Experienced leadership is always important, but during a moment of transition as we are in now, it’s critical to meet the opportunity ahead. As leisure travel returns, we’re seeing a rising demand for knowledgeable and customer-centric expertise to guide decisions,” said Jeff Clarke, Chief Executive Officer of Unique Vacations, Inc. (UVI), appointed in APR 2020.

“This team of seasoned pros is focused on the guest and well positioned for what I know are the travel industry’s greatest days ahead.”

Effective immediately, below are the following changes:

Sadler was most recently Senior Vice President of Sales at Unique Vacations. In his expanded role, he will continue fostering relationships with the broader industry including travel networks, airline partners, tour operators, travel associations, tourist boards and various government entities.

Maureen Barnes-Smith, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Canada

A company veteran of 27 years, Barnes-Smith is also Director of Philanthropy for the not-for-profit Sandals Foundation in Canada, as well as an active member of the Jamaican Diaspora community.

Maggie Rivera, Chief Communications & Strategy Officer
Rivera joined the company in 1997. She is now responsible for strategic insights, partner agency management, corporate communications and public affairs, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Tony Cortizas, Senior Vice President of Brand Development
Cortizas returns to the organization after a 15-year hiatus. During his first tenure at UVI, he was part of the team that brought to life some of Sandals Resorts’ expanded weddings offerings.

Tonya Hawryluk, Senior Vice President of Group Development
Hawryluk, previously serving as Vice President, has more than 25 years of experience in customer service, operations and sales. She will be responsible for group incentive travel.

Debbie-Ann White, Senior Vice President of Events, Experiences & Promotions
White was previously SVP of Public Relations & Promotions. She will continue to develop consumer insights and external business relationships between the brands, key partners and allies.

William Tullmann, Vice President of Operations & Revenue Strategy
Tullmann will expand initiatives that aim to grow global distribution, optimize revenue, and improve commercial operations.

Garth Laird, Vice President of Trade Sales, US
Previously Senior National Director of Sales, Laird is responsible for trade sales in the U.S.
